Come to our meetings every Wednesday night at 7:00 pm in Siemens Hall Room 115. Everyone is invited to come and listen and participate in our meetings.
Our Mission
We are the Humboldt Chapter of United Students Against Sweatshops (USAS). We work closely with our parent organization, USAS, in order to end our reliance on sweatshop labor. As of 2008, we are working on the Designated Supplier's Program, a project hosted by USAS. We hope that, with this program Universities can flex their power and negotiate with apparel corporations to ensure that codes of conduct and basic human rights are respected. The core principles of this program are to provide: Freedom of Association, a Living Wage, and Transparency (ie. the locations of factories are publicly disclosed, as are reports about them).
